Liwa is planned as the government capital of Al Gharbia and is located inland among some of the largest sand dunes in the UAE. Transpo was brought on board to complete a multi-modal transportation analysis that evaluated a 20- year master plan of the settlement that is expected to witness a substantial population growth. The project involved working closely with the design team to develop a multi-modal grid network that would fulfill requirements of the Western Region Development Council, Urban Planning Council, Department of Transport and a number of stakeholders including WRM and WRDC.
